Hi, future students of Fall 2020! This is from page 10 of our Activity Book. We usually don't have time for this in an online class. Please listen to the video and make sure you know how to pronounce Ordinal Numbers.
ReplyDeleteWhere can we see ordinal numbers in everyday life?
1. In the names of streets (2nd St., 51st Ave.)
2. In dates of the month we always have to pronounce ordinals (Today it is the 20th of June).
3. Anniversaries: Tomorrow will be their 40th wedding anniversary.
4. Introductory phrase when speaking: First, I want to mention..., Second, we need to remember...
5. When you speak about lines of people: I was seventeenth in that line for tickets, and my neighbor was twenty-fifth.
Mini-Quiz Question:
What numbers we have to know when we are writing checks from a checking account: Ordinal or Cardinal?
Answer: We need to know Cardinal Numbers. For example: 25 (twenty-five) dollars 46/100 (cents)
